ML0 3 This course introduces the analysis, based on reading and discussion of Hispanic literary texts. Such as fiction, drama, essay, and poetry from Spain and Spanish America. Another of my classes that helped me do well in my major is Hispanic literature. I took this class at the beginning of the year. In this class we read a lot of literature stories such as “las medias Rojas”, “la camisa de margarita”, and “la muneca Menor” and many others very interesting. The readings in this class were always very interesting but very different from one another and it always teached me something different. especially because it was a story that will make me realize how it was back then. For example, it would talk about how women were treated and what were the consequences of things these authors had to go through after they publish some of these books or stories if it would be against their community. If it showed too much information about specific things their community was going through at this time. Some of them would have to disappear or hide in order not to get in trouble for everything they would write about, some of these authors' stories would be banned from people reading their stories because of the specific things they would write, and it was not “right” to be talked about. One of the Authors we read about was Sor Juana Ines She's a very interested author in my opinion I like the way she would express herself into her poems, the way she would talk about men and express herself was very interested to me that her being a nun she was able to express herself this way. Her problem was not being a nun and talking badly about men, but it was the fact that she was a woman. This class helped me understand more about the reading of the authors and how important linguistics is for Spanish majors.
