My name is Jazmin Mendoza and this is my last semester in CSUMB . My major is Spanish . My dream job is becoming a Spanish teacher in high schools or bilingual teacher in an Elementary school. Before going to CSUMB I went two years at Hartnell College where I was in Elementary teacher major for one year and took child development classes. While that year I had a good experience working with children in other schools where we would watch their teachers give the class and we would see how every teacher from different grades kinder through six grade worked with their students and different ways each teacher from the same grades had their own way to teach. Afterwards we would get a group of students where we would help them with their work, talk to them, play with them etc. After that year I decided to change my major to Spanish because I was in love with that subject and I was very interested in it. My second year I took my linguistic classes and Spanish classes . My favorite class from Hartnell was one of my Spanish classes where we had the opportunity to read Francisco Jimenez famous books “ cajas de cartón”, “senderos Fronterizos”, “ mas alla de mi “ which were very good books I personally identify myself with many of their situation. Another of my favorite classes was a linguistic class where we learned about the history of Sor Juana Ines of her life and her poetry work . My experience in Hartnell was great. I liked my major journey started there and learned many things along the way. Two years later I transferred to CSUMB and my Spanish major continued.
